Inside an online Quran class: how it all fits together

If you have never taken a lesson online, this page walks through a class from the student’s side: what to set up, what appears on the screen, and how the timetable is agreed.

What you need at home

  • A laptop, iPad or tablet that has a webcam and mic (a phone works, but a bigger screen makes the text easier to read).
  • A steady internet connection.
  • A quiet corner where the student can sit comfortably for the lesson.

There is no book to buy for class: the teacher brings the page to the screen.

What you see during the lesson

Cameras stay on for both sides, letting the teacher catch each sound and see how the mouth shapes it. A Quran page is displayed through screen sharing, with the current line marked. The learner reads straight off that displayed page on their own device.

Who is in the class

Only the student and the teacher. For younger children, a parent is welcome to sit nearby, especially in the first lessons.

How the timetable is set

Our teachers are on hand at all hours, seven days a week. On the enrolment form you tick the days that suit you and the part of the day you prefer; our team matches a teacher and confirms by email.

How progress is followed

Each lesson continues from where the last one stopped. The teacher listens to what was practised, corrects mistakes, and moves on once the student is ready.
